Catalyst 9 (Spring 2015)


Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, which ‘highlights the work of UK charities and updates supporters on important public affairs developments relating to CARE’s work’.

The centre section of this issue is devoted to the General Election, ‘with prayer points, a brief guide to hustings and an overview of core issues for reflection, but also contains an article written for Catalyst by Lord Alton of Liverpool’.

Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, highlighting ministries ‘making a Christian difference’ as well as giving the latest CARE news.

This issue ‘has a focus of the outworking of our gospel responsibility, and how Christian love in action transforms lives’, and features include ‘a lively profile of UCCF, the Christian University Unions, and some special charities carrying out sensitive work to vulnerable people... an update on CARE’s public affairs work, an uplifting piece by Stuart Weir, CARE’s National Director for Scotland, and a lively report on The Big Promise event’.

According to CARE, this issue includes a ‘moving interview with Professor John Wyatt on human dignity, a profile of TLG Education charity, a lively account of an evaluate presentation, a tour round the Parliaments and Assemblies, and much more’.

Catalyst 5 (Spring 2013)


Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, highlighting ministries ‘making a Christian difference’ as well as giving the latest CARE news.

According to CARE, highlights in this issue ‘include a fascinating profile of Christians Against Poverty, with freelance writer Clive Price speaking to CAP founder John Kirkby, and an interview with Jessie Joe Jacobs, the dynamic CEO of A Way Out, an award-winning charity working with at-risk women and young people in Stockton-on-Tees.

‘Also... is an interview with Greg Downes, Principal of the Centre for Missional Leadership, on culture, leadership and mission. Catalyst also asked Clive Price to profile the distinctively Christian vision behind popular toy shop chain, The Entertainer, and pay a lively visit to their store in Horsham.’

Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, highlighting ministries ‘making a Christian difference’ as well as giving the latest CARE news.

According to the CARE website, highlights in this issue include ‘a fascinating profile of Chief Superintendent John Sutherland of the Metropolitan Police and Gareth Davies’ interview with Matt Summerfield, Chief Executive of Urban Saints, about his work with young people. Catalyst also features an interview with the speaker, writer and apologist, Amy Orr-Ewing on Christianity in the public square and a moving piece by CARE Consultant Philippa Taylor on the impact of family breakdown on children.’ In addition, ‘CARE’s Chief Executive Nola Leach talks to Lord McColl of Dulwich about his life as surgeon, as a politician and his campaign against human trafficking’.

Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, highlighting ministries ‘making a Christian difference’ as well as giving the latest CARE news.


According to the CARE website, the Spring 2012 edition carries ‘major articles on what it’s like to be involved as Christians in local government or business initiatives’.


‘Feature writer Clive Price has written a moving piece on the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team, and on the urban charity XLP, telling the stories of project worker Ethan Bernard and CEO Patrick Regan. CARE’s Chief Executive Nola Leach is quizzed on the Coalition for Marriage, and we are thrilled that RT Kendall accepted an invitation to write for Catalyst.’

Catalyst 2 (Autumn 2011)


Catalyst is a twice-yearly magazine, published by CARE, ‘featuring a mix of interesting articles from Christian leaders and the latest on what CARE is doing to make a Christian difference’.


According to the CARE website, ‘the second issue highlights not only CARE’s work but also the work of other ministries and individuals who really are “making a difference”. There is an article by Marcus Honeysett on leadership, interviews with Robin Mark of The Mandate and Gavin Shuker MP, all the latest from CARE’s Public Affairs team, a fascinating insight into the world of a schools worker and much more’.
