The May–June 2023 issue of Mission Frontiers, published by the U.S. Center for World Mission, contains a number of articles devoted to the theme of ‘The Gospel Goes Digital’.

Here is the issue blurb, which sets the scene:

‘New inventions have always been met with some controversy and skepticism at first as believers wrestled with understanding the new technology and its biblical implications before adopting it to the glory of God. That process continues in our day at a breathtaking speed. We should seek to use every tool that science can provide to help spread the Gospel. But we cannot just sit back and hope that the scientific community will always use these new technologies wisely. The Church needs to be actively involved in guiding the application of new technologies from a biblical perspective.’

The July–August 2023 issue is devoted to the topic of ‘Mobilising the Church to Reach All Peoples’, with the blurb as follows:

Jesus’ last words to His disciples and to us in Matt. 28:18–20 were to go and make disciples of all nations (ethne/peoples), baptizing them and teaching them to obey all that Jesus has commanded us, which also includes this command. For 2,000 years, this command to make disciples should have been one of the first things taught to every new Jesus follower after they repented of their sins and put their faith in Jesus for salvation. But unfortunately, this command has, too often, been forgotten and ignored by the Church. This is why we still have over 7,000 unreached peoples according to Joshua Project, and why we still have a challenge of mobilizing the Church today.’

Mission Frontiers 40, 6 (November-December 2018)

The November-December 2018 issue of Mission Frontiers, published by the U.S. Center for World Mission, contains a number of articles devoted to ‘The Frontier Peoples’.

The editor, Rick Wood, Writes:

‘For forty years, now Frontier Ventures and many other mission organizations have had a laser-like focus on taking the gospel to the Unreached Peoples of the world. Mission Frontiers 38, 6 (November-December 2016)

The November-December 2016 issue of Mission Frontiers, published by the U.S. Center for World Mission, contains a number of articles on ‘40 Years of the USCWM/Frontier Ventures and the Unreached Peoples Movement’.

Editor Rick Wood writes:

‘In this issue we pause to look back on the legacy of faithfulness of people like Ralph Winter and others who with vision and passion in their hearts for God’s glory in all peoples, risked so much and worked so hard to launch the USCWM/Frontier Ventures and the unreached peoples movement. They made all the progress of the last 40 years possible. We stand on the shoulders of giants, but in many ways they were just people like us whom God chose to use because of their faithfulness and availability – and God honored their faith. As we seek to reach the unreached peoples in our day, we must believe that the God who was faithful in providing for the Winters will also be faithful in providing for us.

‘What is our identity in Christ? Is it only as sinners saved by the grace of God, who are looking for Jesus to bless our lives here and in the life to come? Or rather, is our identity also tied to the fact that Jesus has given us a mission that all of us have been called to participate in?

‘In order to succeed at reaching the unreached, we must also do ministry the way that Jesus intended. Biologically, the human race survives and grows by way of parents giving birth to children and then raising them to maturity. Likewise, God has designed the Church to grow organically and exponentially by means of well-equipped disciples passing on their faith to others who are also well-trained to make disciples generation after generation.’

Mission Frontiers 37, 2 (March-April 2015)

The March-April 2015 issue of Mission Frontiers, published by the U.S. Center for World Mission, contains a number of articles looking at ‘Frontier Ventures’.

Editor Rick Wood writes:

‘With this latest issue of Mission Frontiers we are announcing and celebrating the birth of Frontier Ventures – from the legacy of the U.S. Center for World Mission...

‘From the founding of the U.S. Center for World Mission, we have been strong advocates for those “hidden” or unreached peoples that have no viable, indigenous movement to Christ. This focus is integral to our DNA as an organization and will not change. We are as committed as ever to seeing breakthroughs among the unreached peoples. For us the ultimate goal of the missionary task is about providing access to the gospel so that every person may have an opportunity to say “yes” to Jesus. The problem is that individuals are cut off from the gospel because they live within people groups that are unreached or unengaged. We will continue to mobilize the global church to initiate kingdom breakthroughs in every unreached people.’
