Last night’s BBC documentary saw a British man, Peter Smedley, kill himself on screen by drinking poison at the Dignitas suicide facility near Zurich. Peter Saunders, CEO of Christian Medical Fellowship, a UK-based organisation with 4,500 UK doctors and 1,000 medical students as members, passes on what he describes as ‘twenty facts we did not learn from Terry Pratchett’s BBC “documentary” on assisted suicide in Europe’.
